Government Complexity Made Simple

The criteria for meaningful use will be in three stages over the next five years. Stage 1 is underway and comprises 25 measures that include Core, Menu, and array of Clinical Quality Measures. While many EHR applications offer some level of Meaningful Use reporting, achieving full compliance can be daunting and further compounded by a 270-page Stage One Final Rule and 100-page FAQ from CMS.

Let VectorMD Solutions shoulder the burden of government complexity so you can focus on patient care. We manage all elements of Meaningful Use to help you fully receive stimulus funds, to include system configuration, staff procedures, and CMS attestation. Our "solution neutrality" enables us to also extend our expertise in Meaningful Use to practices with EHR systems in place, but lack needed vendor support. We are strong advocates for our clients and get the job done right - the first time.

Meaningful Use Management

Funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and HITECH Act, and administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, healthcare professionals and hospitals can receive substantial monetary incentives - and avoid penalties - for demonstrating meaningful use of an EHR system.

Eligible professionals can receive up to $44,000 over five contiguous years under the Medicare EHR Incentive Program and must begin participation by 2012 to receive the maximum incentive payment. Conversely, all physicians who contract with Medicare must demonstrate meaningful use to avoid payment reductions in 2015.

Eligible professionals can receive up to $63,750 in the Medicaid (Medi-Cal) EHR Incentive Program by adopting, implementing, or upgrading an EHR system, and demonstrating meaningful use for up to five remaining participation years. The Medi-Cal program does not have penalties, but physicians participating in the Medi-Cal program are still subject to a reduction in Medicare payments if they have not achieved meaningful use by 2015.
